Kris expected to have an increased awareness and understanding of other cultures. What completely surprised her was her increased awareness of the American culture. She loved being able to use her planning skills and was happy with the leadership skills that she has developed.

Another unexpected reward was her greater involvement in her community. She met people and learned about places and activities that she never knew existed.

Her friends have noticed her increased confidence which she directly attributes to running a successful program.

Perhaps one day, she will find that running exchange programs will have become career stepping stones. Finally, Kris not only enjoyed her experiences, but she was able to earn some extra money.
